What happens if equipment is damaged?

Log the condition and any damage notes right at check-in, attached to that specific piece of gear. It's flagged for repair or replacement automatically and stays out of the rentable pool until it's cleared, so there are no more disputes over who had it last.

Can I use barcode scanners?

Yes. A barcode or QR scanner speeds up checkout and returns significantly and works with most standard USB and Bluetooth scanners, but it isn't required to get started. Everything also works with search and tap on a touchscreen.

Do I need any other special hardware?

No. Beyond an optional barcode scanner, Basecrew runs in a browser on the devices you already have: desktop, tablet, or phone.
